Foundation Cigars: Blends, Tobacco and Vitolas
Foundation Cigar Company uses tobacco origin and wrapper selection to create distinctly different cigar families. Nicaraguan tobacco forms the core of many blends, while Connecticut Broadleaf, Mexican San Andrés, Ecuadorian Habano, Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade, and other wrapper tobaccos provide substantial differences across the portfolio.

Foundation Olmec is a full-strength Nicaraguan cigar built around Mexican San Andrés wrapper tobacco. Beneath the wrapper is a Nicaraguan Jalapa binder with filler tobaccos from Estelí and Jalapa. Olmec is produced in Claro and Maduro wrapper expressions, with current Cigars N Cigars inventory concentrated on Olmec Maduro in Toro, Corona Gorda, Grande, and Doble Corona formats.
Foundation Charter Oak
Charter Oak is Foundation's collection built around traditional wrapper styles and Nicaraguan interior tobaccos. Charter Oak Connecticut Broadleaf uses a Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper over a Nicaraguan Habano binder and Nicaraguan filler. The broader collection also includes Connecticut Shade and Habano expressions, allowing the wrapper to serve as the primary distinction among the blends.
Highclere Castle Cigars
Highclere Castle is produced in multiple wrapper expressions using Nicaraguan filler tobaccos. Highclere Castle Edwardian uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper and falls on the milder side of the collection, while Highclere Castle Victorian uses an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper and provides a richer, medium-to-full profile.
Highclere Castle Edwardian vs. Victorian
Edwardian and Victorian provide one of the clearest direct comparisons in the Foundation portfolio. Both use Brazilian Mata Fina binder and Nicaraguan filler tobaccos, but Edwardian uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper while Victorian uses Ecuadorian Habano. Foundation The Tabernacle
The Tabernacle is one of Foundation's fuller cigar families. The Connecticut Broadleaf blend combines a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper with Mexican San Andrés binder and filler tobaccos from Estelí and Jalapa in Nicaragua and Jamastrán in Honduras. A separate Havana Seed CT No. 142 expression uses the same binder and filler origins beneath a Havana-seed Connecticut wrapper.
Foundation The Wise Man
The Wise Man is another established Foundation cigar family and is offered in Corojo and Maduro expressions. It represents a separate blend family from Olmec, Charter Oak, Highclere Castle, and The Tabernacle, extending the portfolio with additional wrapper and tobacco combinations.
Foundation Olmec vs. Charter Oak Maduro
Olmec Maduro and Charter Oak Maduro both use darker wrapper tobaccos over predominantly Nicaraguan blends, but their tobacco compositions differ. Olmec uses Mexican San Andrés over a Jalapa binder and Nicaraguan filler, while Charter Oak Maduro uses Connecticut Broadleaf over a Nicaraguan Habano binder and Nicaraguan filler. Wrapper origin is therefore one of the primary distinctions between the two.
