AJ Fernandez Cigars: Blends, Tobacco and Vitolas
The AJ Fernandez portfolio is built around Nicaraguan tobacco, but the major cigar families use substantially different wrapper, binder, and filler combinations. Connecticut Shade, Cameroon, Ecuadorian Habano, Brazilian Mata Fina, Connecticut Broadleaf, Mexican San Andrés, and Nicaraguan Habano tobaccos all appear across the collection.
AJ Fernandez also repeats several familiar vitolas across different blends, including Robusto, Toro, Churchill, Belicoso, Torpedo, Gordo, and Lancero formats. This makes the portfolio particularly useful for comparing tobacco composition while keeping cigar dimensions relatively similar.

AJ Fernandez New World
New World began as a collaboration between AJ Fernandez and his father, Ismael Fernandez, and has developed into one of the broadest families in the AJ Fernandez portfolio. The line includes Oscuro, Connecticut, Cameroon, Puro Especial, Dorado, and Decenio expressions, each with a separate tobacco composition.
New World Connecticut uses a Connecticut Shade wrapper over a Mexican San Andrés binder with Nicaraguan and Brazilian fillers, while New World Cameroon pairs Cameroon wrapper with Nicaraguan binder and filler. Puro Especial uses Nicaraguan Habano wrapper and binder with Nicaraguan filler, and Dorado is an all-Nicaraguan blend using Habano Sun Grown wrapper.
New World Oscuro
New World Oscuro uses a dark Nicaraguan wrapper over a Jalapa binder with filler tobaccos from Ometepe, Condega, and Estelí. The blend is strongly rooted in Nicaragua but uses tobaccos from several distinct growing regions rather than a single-farm composition.
The line is produced in Robusto, Belicoso, Gordo, Toro, Toro Redondo, and Double Corona formats, giving the same blend substantial variation in ring gauge and length.
New World Dorado
New World Dorado is a Nicaraguan puro built largely around tobacco grown on AJ Fernandez's Dorado farm. The blend uses a Nicaraguan Habano Sun Grown wrapper with Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos.
Dorado is produced in Corona, Robusto, Gordito, Toro, and Figurado sizes. The 6 x 56 Figurado provides a shaped alternative to the more conventional parejo formats in the line.
AJ Fernandez Bellas Artes
Bellas Artes is produced in Habano and Maduro expressions with markedly different tobacco structures. Bellas Artes Habano uses a Habano wrapper over a Quilalí binder with filler tobaccos from Nicaragua, Honduras, and Brazil.
Bellas Artes Maduro replaces that composition with a Brazilian Mata Fina wrapper, Mexican San Andrés binder, and Nicaraguan filler. The Maduro line also includes a 7 x 40 Lancero, providing a notably different wrapper-to-filler ratio from the larger Robusto, Toro, and Gordo formats.
AJ Fernandez Enclave
Enclave is produced in Habano and Broadleaf versions. Enclave Habano uses an Ecuadorian wrapper over a Cameroon binder with Nicaraguan filler, while Enclave Broadleaf uses Connecticut Broadleaf over Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos.
The difference between the two lines extends beyond wrapper color: both the wrapper and binder change. Robusto, Toro, Churchill, and shaped formats provide several ways to compare the two Enclave blends across similar dimensions.
AJ Fernandez San Lotano
San Lotano is one of the broader families in the AJ Fernandez portfolio and includes Connecticut, Habano, Maduro, Bull, and other expressions. The different versions use distinct wrapper and binder combinations rather than simply applying different wrappers to one fixed blend.
San Lotano Bull, for example, uses an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos. It is produced in Robusto, Toro, Gordo, and Torpedo formats, providing both traditional parejo and tapered shapes within the same blend.
AJ Fernandez Días de Gloria
Días de Gloria is built from aged tobacco grown on four AJ Fernandez farms in Estelí: Finca Los Cedros, La Providencia 1, La Lilia, and La Soledad. The blend is intended as a Nicaraguan expression centered on tobacco from AJ Fernandez's own farming operations.
Unlike cigar families built around several wrapper variants, Días de Gloria places greater emphasis on tobacco origin and aging. Its farm-specific construction gives it a different technical identity from the multi-country blends used in Bellas Artes, Enclave, and New World Connecticut.
AJ Fernandez Last Call
Last Call originated as a small-batch cigar made for visitors to AJ Fernandez factories and farms before becoming a regular-production line. The family is produced in both Habano and Maduro versions.
Last Call is oriented toward smaller, shorter-smoking formats than many of the larger Toro, Churchill, and Gordo cigars elsewhere in the AJ Fernandez portfolio. The Habano and Maduro versions should be compared by their individual wrapper and blend specifications rather than treated as one uniform cigar.
